WolloW

WolloW Privacy Policy

Effective date:

WolloW does not sell your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information WolloW Inc. collects, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

Who we are and what this policy covers

WolloW Inc. ("WolloW", "we", "us") is a Delaware corporation based in Cumming, Georgia, USA. WolloW provides an instant bank payment platform: businesses receive payments by QR code or payment link, and consumers pay directly from their bank account, with a digital receipt for both sides.

This policy applies to:

  • the WolloW app for consumers;
  • WolloW Pay, our platform for businesses (merchants);
  • our websites, including wollowpay.com, and the payment, menu and ordering pages we host for merchants.

When you buy from a merchant through WolloW, that merchant also receives some of your information and handles it under its own privacy practices.

By creating an account or using our services, you acknowledge this policy. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it separately.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run payments, keep accounts secure and meet legal obligations.

We do not store full card numbers. Card payments are handled by our payment partner, and we receive only limited details such as the card brand and last four digits.

How we use information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the service: create your account, generate QR codes and payment links, process payments, deliver orders and keep your receipts.
  • Verify identity and prevent fraud: confirm who you are, confirm that a linked bank account belongs to you, check available balance before a payment, and detect suspicious activity.
  • Communicate with you: send receipts, payment and order updates, security alerts and, only with your consent, marketing messages.
  • Support merchants: show businesses their sales, payouts, fees, orders and receipts.
  • Keep WolloW secure and reliable: monitor, troubleshoot and protect our systems.
  • Improve WolloW: understand how features are used, mostly with aggregated or de-identified data.
  • Meet legal obligations: comply with laws, regulations, tax and record-keeping rules, and lawful requests.

We do not use your bank account data from Plaid for advertising, and we do not use it for any purpose other than verifying your account, checking balances and processing the payments you authorize.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only as described here.

With your consent Any other sharing, only when you ask or agree.

Linking your bank account with Plaid

WolloW uses Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to connect your bank account. When you link an account, you sign in to your bank on Plaid's screen, and Plaid shares with WolloW only the information described above: account and routing numbers, account owner details and available balance.

By linking your account, you allow Plaid to collect and share this information with WolloW under the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You can unlink your bank account in the WolloW app at any time; WolloW then stops accessing it.

We protect the access token Plaid gives us with an additional layer of encryption, separate from our database encryption.

Text messages (SMS)

We send text messages to verify your phone number and about your activity: verification codes, payment and order updates, receipts and security alerts. Marketing texts are sent only if you opt in separately.

  • Message frequency varies with your activity.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to stop messages, or HELP for help.
  • We do not share your phone number or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing.

Stopping texts may limit some features, such as phone verification and order updates.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as the law requires. We review this schedule at least once a year.

Information Retention period
Account information While your account is open, then 2 years after closure
Plaid access token and linked bank account details Until you unlink the account or close your WolloW account; deleted within 30 days after
Balance checks Not stored beyond the payment they were checked for, except in fraud and audit logs
Payment records and receipts 7 years after the transaction, for tax, accounting and anti-money-laundering obligations
Identity verification records 5 years after the account is closed, or as required by our payment partners and law
Orders and delivery addresses 2 years after the order
Location Not stored after it is used for the request, unless you save a place
Security and system logs 12 months
Marketing preferences and SMS opt-outs Until you change them; opt-outs are kept so we keep honoring them

Deleting your information

You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time:

  1. In the app, go to Profile → Privacy → Delete my account, or email [email protected].
  2. We verify your identity before acting on the request.
  3. We delete or de-identify your information within 45 days and confirm when it is done.

We may keep records we must retain by law, such as payment records and identity verification, until their retention period ends. Merchants and payment partners may also keep copies of transactions under their own legal obligations.

Your rights and choices

  • Access and correction: see and update your account information in the app, or ask us for a copy of your data.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your information, as described above.
  • Unlink your bank: remove a linked bank account at any time.
  • Location: turn location access on or off in your device settings.
  • Marketing: opt out of marketing emails and texts at any time; we will still send messages about your account and payments.
  • State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have additional rights, such as to know, delete, correct and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We honor these requests and will not treat you differently for using them.

How we protect information

  • Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest.
  • Bank access tokens receive an additional layer of encryption.
  • Access to systems with personal data requires multi-factor authentication and is limited to people who need it.
  • Card data is handled by our payment partner, not stored by WolloW.

No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Children

WolloW is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

United States only

WolloW operates in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If the changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
